UWA Tennis Club is a UWA Sport recognised Performance club with the only red European-style clay courts in the State which is globally acknowledged as the indisputable surface for player development. The Club offers a comprehensive and varied coaching programme throughout the year via its coaching provider, Sharper Tennis.
Sharper Tennis and UWA TC provide a pathway for talented young players in the local community through to State, National & International tennis.
Sharper Tennis is led by Simon Harper.
With over 25 years of tennis coaching experience that has taken him from the UK to America via Africa and now Australia, Simon brings a great sense of fun to tennis coaching whilst facilitating a love of tennis through gameplay and the understanding that enjoyment comes from achievement.
Simon has worked with juniors who have gone on to reach the top 50 in ATP Doubles and coached National Champions in both Singles and Doubles in different age groups and on three different continents, as well as multiple semi-finalists and quarter-finalists. He is currently managing WA State League Finalists, Div 1 Finalists and Junior Boys State League Finalists.
The Sharper Tennis team believes that tennis really is a sport for everyone whatever their age, ability, or background. Their aim is to deliver fun, affordable, quality tennis lessons and coaching to all and help you fulfil your tennis potential.
